Carpenter Bee

DESCRIPTION:
These bees use their strong jaws to excavate tunnels for nesting sites in wood. The round half-inch diameter entrance holes are usually found on the underside of a board. A tell-tale trace of coarse sawdust is often found directly under the hold. Wooden decks, overhands, swing sets, and other exposed wood are prime targets.
CONTROL ADVICE:
Preventing damage from carpenter bees is difficult, but treating entrance holes can reduce future nesting.
