DESCRIPTION:

Cicada Killer females use their sting to paralyze their prey rather than to defend their nests. They are non-aggressive unless touched or disturbed. They’re commonly seen in late summer skimming around the yard searching for cicadas. They burrow in sandy soils, grass covered banks, raised sidewalks, patio slabs, in window boxes, and many other places.

CONTROL ADVICE:

Control of these pests may not be necessary unless their presence is a nuisance. They can be troublesome in a high traffic home and commercial areas, like berms around swimming pools or at golf course greens.
